3 Natural Ways to Whiten Teeth
When we’re working to heal our bodies, or just keep them healthy so that we don’t fall victim to the chronic diseases that are so common in our society, we want to be careful with cosmetics as well.

Like having thick hair, pink lips, and clear skin, having white teeth is not only a sign of health, but it’s also a beauty goal for many people.

There are natural ways that we can whiten our teeth without sacrificing our health with the tooth whiteners found in drug stores.

Coconut Oil Pulling

Putting a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth, chewing it and allowing it to melt, and then swishing it around like mouthwash gets rid of bacteria in your mouth, and dissolves surface stains.  This is a great cure for bad breath too, the antimicrobial properties kill bacteria that linger after flossing and brushing.

Instructions:

Take 1 tablespoon coconut oil (I like this coconut oil)

Allow to melt in your mouth

Swish around for 5 minutes

Spit, flushing with hot water so that it doesn’t clog the pipes

Floss and brush as normal (I use this tooth paste)

Apple Cider Vinegar

Take internally – 1 ounce is the goal (a shot glass) for each day.  I add about 1 tablespoon of ACV to each glass of water that I drink through the day. It’s an acquired taste, and it whitens teeth from the inside out. Apple cider vinegar balances the PH and can help the teeth reminieralize, especially if you drink coffee or soda. Read more about apple cider vinegar here.

Instructions:

Take 1 tablespoon in water daily, or drink one ounce the morning.

Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal binds to the stains in teeth and pulls them out quickly.  This is a surprisingly fast remedy that is perfect to end this 3-step tooth whitening process.  Use weekly, or as often as you desire.

Instructions:

Open capsule (I buy this kind of activated charcoal)

Pour 1/4 of the capsule onto a wet toothbrush

Brush teeth with it – your teeth and gums will turn black/grey

Allow to sit on the teeth for 5-10 minutes

Brush normally with toothpaste

Notice an immediate improvement!
