Orange Chicken Drumsticks gulten grain free

These spicy orange chicken drumsticks are so easy to make (tip: Make the marinade/sauce in the morning and have fresh juice with breakfast as well!) and they are delicious!  The amount of red pepper flakes can be adjusted to taste, keep the shaker out so those who like it hot can add more to their chicken after it’s served.

Orange Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:

Grated zest of 1 orange

1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (from approx. 4-6 oranges)

1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

12 chicken drumsticks (approx 3 lbs)

In a large bowl combine all ingredients except the chicken, add chicken and turn to coat.  Allow to marinade 2 hours or all day.  After marinating, place chicken in a singer layer in a 9×13″ or similarly sized casserole dish, pour marinade over the top.  Bake at 425*, basting with the juices halfway through, until juices of the chicken run clear when cut, approx 30 minutes.  Top with the sauce at the bottom of the pan.
