kombucha jello recipe

I’ve been reading The Gelatin Secret by Sylvie of Hollywood Homestead, it’s a FANTASTIC resource!  Not only does Sylvie go over all the awesome health benefits of gelatin, pictures of her darling family, and her own personal health journey, but she also has creative recipes for any time of the day, both sweet and savory.

Did you know that healthy gelatin is super good for your digestive tract, and thus seals a leaky gut that can reduce or even eliminate chronic health issues and speed healing when you’re doing a healing diet like GAPS? It can be eaten in jello treats, gummies, and added to (it’s also naturally present in broth) soups and savory dishes. You can purchase the kind of gelatin I like here.

I’m going to share a recipe for kombucha jello down below, from her book.  There are tons and tons of gelatin recipes in here, not only are they healthy, but they’re delicious and fun!  You can buy this beautiful well-researched e-book discounted until 5/20/2014 using the coupon code HAPPY30 here for 30% off!

 Kombucha Jello

2 cups Kombucha, flavor of your choice (I got mine from my continous brew system – see more here)

2 tablespoons gelatin (find gelatin from grassfed cows here)

1 tablespoon maple syrup (I used honey – find it here– to make it GAPS legal)

Directions:

Pour kombucha and maple syrup or honey in to a pot.

Heat on low until warm.

Add gelatin and mix well with immersion blender.

Pour into a pan or gelatin mold.

Allow to cool.

Chill in the refridgerator for 2 hours, or until set.

Serve and enjoy!
